A Feast of Style
Though I appreciate good food as much as the next person, preparing
it is another matter altogether. Almost losing my eyebrows to an oven
a few years back has made me realize that I am far from being God’s
gift to
kitchens everywhere. Though I haven’t yet killed anyone with
my cooking, I have learned to be sensible and rely on trusty take-out
menus instead of whipping up spectacular dishes from the chocolates,
wine and potato chips that are the permanent residents of my fridge.
In
My Food has become a vital part of our culture, and as always, we
at myHome give importance to the needs and wants
of Filipinos everywhere with our August Kitchen and Dining special.
This month, we serve up some delicious fare: check out the Trends
section on for hip kitchen must-haves; store up on practical essentials
found in the Home Accessories Guide; and wash your way to style with
our Design 101 feature on kitchen sinks. If your dining area needs
work, update it with the sensible tips and products in the Space Starters
section. For those who love to entertain at home, we present a delectable
spread of visually appealing kitchens, scrumptious food and great
style. The homes on our pages, as always, are carefully chosen for
your pleasure.
The last few months have been full of changes for us, and we look
forward to the future with promise as we continue to discover all
the best our country has to offer. Our associate editor Verl Ramos
has been instrumental in making our magazine into what it is today.
We thank her and wish her luck as she begins her new life in Singapore.
With this issue we welcome Roumel Itum, who is as dedicated and ready
to give you, dear reader, all the good things that make myHome something
to look forward to each month. They say ‘too many cooks spoil
the broth,’—with the team I have now, I believe otherwise.
